While today is only Thursday, I am taking tomorrow off to explore the city I came to see and to visit some attractions as well as to start packing. This makes today my last day working for Flightpath and this my final update for the internship. The experience of both working in a professional environment of my choosing and also living in a city such as New York has been one that I will not be taking for granted. Being able to see one of the professions I might end up in has been the most useful thing school has ever done for me. Being able to do the work and test your skills against the real professionals in this industry has provided me with a useful benchmark that I can use in the future to determine what I need to do to make the work I produce even better and more impactful. While web design was one of my primary choices earlier, I can see now that while it is still a very interesting business to be in, there is too much of a creative cap to the design that goes into it. I often found myself wanting to try new things for a website but the templates and outlines set are there to make sure everything looks as streamlined and easy-to-read as possible.
To recap the events of this week: I finished the mobile version of the page that Flightpath wanted me to design, I made considerable progress on my humanities photoshop project, and I made considerable progress catching up in some of my other classes.
